My journey with clay
Beetle Ceramics began with a deep love for creating practical, handmade pottery. Inspired by natural textures, earthy glazes, and individual character, each piece is born from the joy of transforming a simple lump of clay into something beautiful and functional for everyday use.
My studio is where these stoneware pieces come to life, reflecting a passion for natural colours, rustic finishes, and the small, unique imperfections that make handmade ceramics truly personal.

The heart of handmade pottery
What I cherish most about pottery is the calm, relaxation, and creativity it brings. It's a space to slow down, focus, and craft practical items with my hands. Watching a piece evolve from clay to a finished product, ready to be enjoyed daily, is incredibly rewarding.
Each Beetle Ceramics piece is made individually, featuring unique variations in shape, texture, and glaze. These natural imperfections are what make every item unique, offering honest, tactile stoneware with warmth, texture, and personality.

Crafting with care and creativity
From crafting and testing unique glaze recipes to shaping each piece on the wheel, I enjoy every step of the pottery-making process. Working with clay is a calming and creative journey, requiring patience, focus, and intuition at every stage.
Wheel throwing is a favourite, transforming a simple lump into something practical and unique. Experimenting with glazes is equally exciting, as subtle changes in colour and texture can dramatically alter the final result. The most thrilling moment is opening the kiln after a firing, where the final colours, textures, and glaze effects are revealed, always bringing an element of surprise and reward.
"I hope each Beetle Ceramics piece brings a little warmth, character and everyday enjoyment to the person using it."
